The model, in plain English

Meet Cortex, the brain behind every verdict

Cortex is the model that reads every match, works out the chances and learns from every result.

Step 1 of 5

IT READS THE GAME

Recent formGoals scored and concededHome or awayLeague tableBookmakers' prices

Before every match Cortex looks at how both teams have been playing, scoring and conceding, home and away.

From those numbers it works out how likely every scoreline is, then adds them up into a chance for each result.

If we rate something more likely than the bookmaker's price suggests, that's value.

You get one clear pick, plus a 2nd and 3rd, with our chance next to each.

The most important step

Every result, win or lose, is logged on our public track record. When a verdict misses, Cortex looks at what it got wrong and adjusts, so it keeps getting sharper.

Then back to step 1: it reads the next game with what it just learned.

No model wins every time. A 65% pick still loses about a third of the time, and that's exactly what Cortex learns from.

How Cortex makes a tip

  1. 1DataFixtures, tables, odds, form, head to head and team news from a licensed provider, refreshed through the day and more often as kickoff nears.
  2. 2ModelExpected goals for each side, then the chance of every scoreline, with a correction for how often draws really happen.
  3. 3Market checkOur chances are checked against the bookmakers' prices, margin removed, so the model can't drift far from reality.
  4. 4Tip pickerEach possible pick is scored on how likely it is and how much better our chance is than the best price. Up to three picks per match, one per market. Edges that look too good to be true are ignored.
  5. 5AI analystClaude reads the numbers and the context and writes the preview. The tip and the confidence score come from the model.
  6. 6LearningEvery tip is logged before kickoff and settled after full time. Each day Cortex checks the results, misses included, and updates itself.

Cortex updates itself after each daily learning run. Every pick it makes is logged before kickoff on our track record. Past results don't guarantee future ones. 18+ only. Bet responsibly.
